Okay! So I am 15 and I am a metal head, political punk, with blue red and black hair 10 piercings, including two on my face. I am on the short-ish side. I like metal and Punk rock, screamo, and 80's hair bands I like to mosh and i am a slave to red lipstick and tim burton films. I skate, snowboard, paint and love to write and sing. I play drums. Why is this not okay with guys, it seems that no matter what i do guys refuse to see me as anything but one of the guys, what am i doing wrong, would you like me????

You're only 15. Most guys in the 15-19 age bracket are pretty immature. Most guys (and their parents) prefer a girl that conforms to the social "normal" of a girl. Don't worry about it. If you're happy with who you are, and your friend like you for who you are, stay the way you are. If you conform and become more "girly," and get a boyfirend, he won't like you for who you are. He'll like the facade you're putting up, and when your true side shows, he'll grow distant, and hurt and break-ups follow.

Just wait till college. High school is when teenagers are punished for rebelling. In college, you can be who ever you want to be. There will be guys who like you for who you are, just the way you are. And besides, dating at your time is just used to gain status or popualrity. Honestly, what is the precentage of relationships that start in high school, last through college and beyond, and end in marriage. Very, very few. So just use this time to have fun with your hobbies and friends. And time to discover yourself, which I think you've already done. And besides, those social confirming girls usually end up in those socially conforming sororities. And can you see yourself in a soroity where they spend hours debating how to solve the "broken nail" situation or who is better, Ambercrobie or Tommy Hillfiger? I certainly can't. So don't change who are.

for me, i would like you in a different way. It's maybe because of your environment and other peoples' environment they grew up to. People are biased in nature, and as long as you fit into a society's standards, you are not doing anything wrong

I would say just be yourself, don't get all those piercings and listen to that kind of music if it does not bring you happiness. Your hobbies and interests are really cool, but I would say that it would probably be a good idea to start listening to some more mellow music because that will help you to become more of a lady while at the same time enjoying the hobbies and cool things that you like to do.

Here is a clue, you say you play the drums, you get one point for not saying beat the drums, still, you have not taken lessons to support your drum playing! That means you are not serious about the instrument you profess to play.

don't be a poser, but gradually go into it. you have short hair? get some gel and spike it, if it is that short, or just make it piecy and a little messy. i don't know much about punk, but what is really cute is when you have old t-shirts, not just ones you bought that look old, but camp t-shirts or just ones you found at a thrift shop. odd earrings, things that stand out. don't go overboard, though. you don't want to be ostracized or labeled.

First off, why you would even want to "go punk" is beyond me. Why would you want to express your individuality by looking like everyone else???? It's way more fun to just dress and act however YOU want without worrying about how "punk" or "emo" or "preppy" you look.

Secondly, if this is something you feel really strongly about and if you really want to change, you're going to have to change more than your hair. My older brother is emo, and in order to be considered emo he had to immerse himself completely in the culture by listening to all the "emo" bands, wearing all the "emo" clothes, saying all the "emo" things, and acting like allllllll the other "emos" out there. He had to observe so many people to prepare himself...it was almost like watching an actor studying their role. Do you really want to worry about that ALL THE TIME? And what if you decide in a few months that punk's not for you and want to change back? You're going to have to deal with so much junk from everyone, and in the end, you'll probably regret it.

So, please, just spare yourself all the time, effort, and money and be yourself.

If you want the hair to stick straight up you are going to need hair wax or gel. And a lot of it. Try TIGI Bed Head Wax Stick or Hard Head Mohawk Gel (at any salon). Work it into dry hair and shape. Flat iron it if you need it straighter. Then set it with an aerosol hair spray.

it really depends on the persons hair length.

colors are a very badass thing %26amp; you can do many badass hair styles with just dying your hair pink or black or purple or something.

for girls you can wear your hair half up half down...the part that is half up can be divided into "pigtails" but instead of leaving the "pig tails" in the normal pony tail form.. i make them into upside down "buns" %26amp; pull some of the hair out the sides so its spiky.

idk if you can picture it :( sorry.

guys.. mohawks exc. you can use elmers glue to keep it up (it works my brother does it all the time) or just go to wallmart %26amp; find some thing call "hair cement" but be careful because if its too heavy the hair wont stand..

One way to get hair to stand straight up is to make a mixture of water and sugar (lots of sugar) and put it in a spray bottle. Have your friends bend way over so their hair is hanging straight down. Spray lots of sugar water on their hair and blow dry while they're still bending over. Don't use a brush or comb...just fingers so the hair is kinda ratty. Good times!

well i used to have a mohawk, what i would do to put it up is :

get some extra hold aqua net, the highest hold you can get, and make sure you have a blow dryer on hand. next i would just comb the hair up how i want it (hold it up) and spray a bunch of hair spray on it, while still holding it up and begin to blow dry, repeat this until it stands up on it's own, it may take about 10 min.s it get it the way you want

From personal experience, it DOES fade out. Some colors faster than others. Some factors can change how fast it fades, such as how often you wash your hair, what kind of shampoo you use and how much you're in the sun.

Personally, what works for me: I bleach the streaks, wait 24 hours then put in the dye. If it's a dark color, it may set quicker, I usually let the lighter colors set for longer periods of time. Wash it out until the water is nearly clear. (Use an old towel, or one specifically for when you dye, as it will get a bit colored) I do not suggest using a hair dryer, though some people swear by it. I only wash my hair every 2-3 days, which keeps it healthier overall. Usually my color lasts for a month and a half - two months before I re-dye, though it does fade a bit in that time.

And just a note: I usually do red, and that has a 'normal' fade to me.. I did orange last, and while it has faded, it has lasted far longer than any other color. I last dyed it orange before Halloween.

I want to be a punk for Haloween, and my mom won't let me be a 2007 punk. She wants me to be and 80's punk, so whatever. I have no idea how to dress like an 80's punk. we bought black hair dye and purple hair dye at wal mart. I would have gone with neon colours or some type of trashy blonde. Purple/black sounds a little too goth or "2007" punk to me.

I wouldn't be upset about not being able to be a "2007" punk since I don't think I've actually seen a decent one out there since...well, the 80s.

As for clothes, think = DIY, trashy, fishnet stockings, Chuck Taylors, neon colors with black (like neon pink fishnets under tight black jeans), or black and white, trashy/neon makeup, ripped clothes, safety pins, Nancy/Sid Vicious...you probably get the point.

Stud belts are a must (atleast 2-3 of them, wear them all at once. hang (1 or 2)loosly around your waist) Fishnet, skinny black jeans, combat rugged boots (try a thrift store they should have some). Spike bracelets and necklaces. (Try Hottopic or *the front of* Spencers.) Misfits shirt, or any other 80s punk bad. (Silent Riot, or even David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust *kind of a strech*, R.E.M, the list goes on)

Dark or extravagant eye make-up. Neon organe or pink, or do tradition black. Have fun with your make-up. ^^

Punk is a culture that started in the 70s when average teenagers both in US and UK were bored and tired of being treated second class..

Kids started getting together.. A huge group had formed by now..Kids were now looking for a type of music.. Something fast and agressive..Bands like The Sex Pistols/Damned/Ramones were the first "punk" bands.

Punk has changed a lot over the years..

Basically - Punk is about being an individual.. Not caring about what others have to say about you.. Not agreeing with the "norms" of society..

A punk rocker is someone who believes those ^ ^ and also likes punk rock music..

Punks dont self hard mainly.. Its Emos who generally do..

I think the point may be that Sandi Thom is confusing era purposefully here. She refers to 1977 - synomonous with punks and 69 - time of the hippy as indicators of time of revolution and anarchy in our past.

If you go into a haircutting salon, they should have a book full of pictures and hairstyles. Look in there, and see if you find something you like. If you don't, try asking them if they know how to do any punk/rock/emo styles. Also, look online. I'm sure there'll be a lot of styles you can find.

I love the long hair look on guys. My hair is currently down to my chest, all one length, no layers etc.

I can't decide if I should leave it as is, or actually get it styled or face-framed or something. My friends always lecture me for not getting it styled. I'm really into rock and punk styles.

OK, long hair was awesome in the 90's, but it's not the 90's anymore. I think most girls would say guys with long, long hair is a turnoff.

That said, I don't think you should get it styled while it is that long, you might end up looking like Fabio or something. You really should cut it to about shoulder length really and sort of chop it up. Look at pictures of rock bands of TODAY and get some ideas. It's cool to be rock or punk but still be NOW.

well it depends on how your face is. But i dont really think it loooks so great when its up to your shoulders. But i really do like the punk styles it looks good on some people. It also depends on how thick your hair is. Punk styles look better with thin hair. Or else you would look like a mushroom. But dont worry about what your friends say do what you want. Its your hair not theirs.

Trust me on this one man. If you have long hair and its nice, and by nice i mean something like natural color, natural texture, and you take good care of it (Eddie Vedder's hair for example), then girls love it. Girls usually think of nasty artificially straightened dyed hair like these emo fags that are ruling the airwaves. OK, I am drawing a blank on the name of this band. They had a video out maybe a year or two ago, and it was kind of zombie themed. All of the band members turned into zombies, and the lead singer was the only one left (he is a bigger guy with big curly hair). He was hiding and shot one of the other band members with an arrow. They then came after him, and at the end he turned into a zombie, as his eyes had that evil look to them. It is a pop punk band, and the lead singer has a higher pitched voice.

A friend of mine had an awesome style that was wicked punk rock, but also looked very feminine.

She dyed her hair bright red and then shaved all but "Bettie Page" bangs and enough in the back to make a ponytail. It was amazing! She turned heads everywhere!

i actually think it would be pretty cool to have half bleached and half black. Then if you turn your head one way you have one hair color and turn your head the other way it's a different color. You could confuse people:p. I actually saw someone with his hair like that before. It was pretty wild.

Here are some ideas;

Dye it all black and then dye your side bangs blonde.

Dye one layer black then the rest of the top layer blonde.

Cut the back so its spikey and leave the rest long in the front. Put in a bunch of highlights and random colors.

Then dye your hair a dark but bold color that way it stands out.

Try and google the websites where you can upload your picture and try different cuts. My computer hates me right now, I wouldn't go so short... Maybe sholder length with long layers in the back. I would also frame the front towards your face with the layers starting at your jaw line going down.

what you can do is go for this trendy new style that is in this season which includes bold sharp cuts.something either like rihanna going shorter one one side but longer on the other(you can still keep it long just that type of trim) or you can do a slanted hair cut which goes around the face being shorter in the back and longer in the front,a very streight cut that has to be done by a professional to be well executed.that way you can also still keep your long hair in the front just have it shorter in the back,and you dont have to go that short in the back if you dont want to.also that style doesnt require layers.

i think the hair style would look very good and you. the layers will frame out your face and thats good. the hair color def not since of your skin tone.

You look like you have a natural curl to your hair. How about a 20's bob? It would really make your eyes "pop". You're petite so you could totally rock the look. If you really want the hairstyle you showed, you ought to straighten your hair first. And go for deep red or raspberry color.

I think that the cut would look good. Maybe a little bit longer on the tope though. Not the orange colors though. I think that blues would look VERRRY good on you. Your dark, olive toned skin would go good with blue.

I like the current hairstyle that you have, but some of those outfits to me, look like an 8 year old would wear, the style that you showed would make you look cheap and probably attract the wrong attention.

As a Cosmetologist, I would say long layers and maybe a little razor cutting trimming the face, but no hair color unless a few highlights done professionally to look like you been vacationing in the sun.

You can only do one thing: love him and respect him. It doesn't mean you have to agree with what he's doing all the time, but you should be there to support him so he can count on you. Attempting to make fun of the music he listens to (MCR is screamo/alternative, not goth, or punk), or the way he dresses, will only make him angry at you and possibly drive him further away. He most likely just needs you to be a good influence, so be patient (although it can be hard) and let him know you're there for him.

Plus, you're his cousin, not his parent, so it isn't really your business. If his folks are ok with it, it shouldn't bother anyone else. As far as his effect on your other cousin--your other cousin has a choice (even at 11), and it's his to make, not yours.

Besides, what difference does it REALLY make how he dresses at 11? I wore sweater dresses, 2 different earrings, armloads of rubber bracelets, scrunch socks and side ponytails, but I don't now.

What i hate is when people think punk is all about grunge ,chains, loud and nasty.

But what i love about the punk look is you can do whatever you what with it, well from my expertise with working with some designers such as Vivienne Westwood, i absolutely love kilt designed skirts, you can also go with the theme of Harujuku or Japanese girls they are soo inspirational, with their use of wild and exploding colours, for example to match your hair for example neon pink or light pink or baby blue, you can even clash them together.

Accesories, you can do like necklaces like long if you want with dinky things for examples bright red apples? or make a necklacefore exmaple get any necklace then stick a bracelet or some old keys in it or a ring maybe.

Make up and nails,nails then maybe neon pink but if you dont wanna go too punk about it then go for a softer pink but its still kinda bright check out Barry M Cosmetics, same again for make up you can experiment because what i think is Barry M do the brightest make up around, the trend is bright and bold, they do provide softer shades too and they do colourful mascaras too.. !!
