I absolutely love this cut!!! I think it would work well for your hair type too.

Cutting own hair into layers?

I am wanting to go for a 'punk/rock' look with my hair. It's about half way down my back and straight. It has a few layers around the front, but i want it reallly choppy and layered. But i want to do it myself (So PLEASE no 'go to a hairdresser' answers!) I have heard that just putting it into a pony tail and cutting an inch or two off will make it choppy. Does that actually work? If no what would be the best way? Any info is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Cutting own hair into layers?

I wouldn't suggest cutting your hair yourself unless you actually know how to do it. And since you don't want to go to a hairdresser, I'll tell you what one of them did to me. They took a chunk of my hair twirled it and then snipped off the end. I guess it worked, but it was only to add one more layer. Also you can buy a pair of scissors that kind of look like a comb those help with the choppiness.

I hope that helps!

Cutting own hair into layers?

ponytails are a good way to go

also, try going upside down and cutting it straight across to get your basic layers first

Make sure you have good sharp scissors

Cutting own hair into layers?

Get a fine tooth comb, and some scissors. Seperate thin layers and cut them all different lengths. I only do it around my face. That's the easiest way to make it look choppy.

Cutting own hair into layers?

won't work.

Haircolor question: why did this happen?

1 week ago I bleached my hair to about level 7-8 blonde. (I did this as a pre-lightening step and my natural color is brown) The next day I applied Semi-permanent red to my hair. It's a very bright noticable punk red. I was satisfied but I noticed I missed a few spots and it was starting to fade. Today I used some of the same red color as I did last week (i bought another box) I mixed some of it with shampoo and let it process for 10 minutes. (the instuctions said you could do this as a color refresher) The faded places and the spots I missed are now a lighter red almlost pinkish color and my hair is broken like it's damaged a little bit. I wasn't expecting that because it's a semi permanent color. Or is it breaking because damage from where i bleached it is now taking effect?

Haircolor question: why did this happen?

It's because you mixed it with shampoo then dyed it again. The parts that didn't get dyed didn't need to be "Refreshed" they needed to be redyed.

Wash the color a few times, over a week. Re-dye it with just the hair dye and it should look normal again.

Haircolor question: why did this happen?

You dyed your hair way too much! You are going to have to leave it alone, condition a lot and let it grow out. If you keep dying it (even with the non permanent) you are going to completely fry it. At least go to a salon and let them fix it.

Haircolor question: why did this happen?

Garnier is a very cone-filled shampoo... try using a shampoo specifically for color treated hair. Ion is a good one, you can buy it at Sally's beauty. The problem with cones is that they can cause buildup at your scalp and choke your hair follicle... which is the last thing you need if you already have breakage.

The breakage is from bleach damage, definitely. Buy a very very good conditioner and you should be ok. Also, try a darker red next time, maybe a different brand of red (Manic Panic is insanely drying, I used to use Color Jamz from Sallys) and apply the color with a brush (which you can also buy at Sallys). This way you can avoid blotchy spots and get a little more even coverage.

One last thing! Try to wash your hair as little as possible. Try twice a week. If your roots get greasy, apply a little baby powder on them and brush it through to absorb the oil. The more you wash, the more your color will fade. Apply conditioner in small amounts daily, but only shampoo sparingly. Good luck !

How can i get this look???

ok...i look better as a blonde..well..i decided...after a million changes in wardrobes..that punk/ emo was my best look..the thing is..my hair is really short and layered..and i look better as a blonde than i do with darker color hair.....what color hi lights and stuff and what color shade of blonde will look the best with punk/emo wardrobe???? pics would help too.....my hair is really layered...im getting a straightener here soon..as soon as i get more punk/ emo clothes...thanx.

How can i get this look???

i think maybe like pink or blue. do you watch rock of love? if you do i think you should try to do ur hair like jes' when she makes it look like it has a lot of volume. that would probably look really nice.

Does this look good?

If I have the hair of Hayley Williams from the band Paramore can I still be emo or punk? If I still where the clothes and makeup but have that blonde and red hair will I still look emo or punk?

Does this look good?

how about you just keep your hair and not try to be something

Does this look good?

Sure...

hair color and style is not too important. Emo or punk is more of how you dress and act.

Does this look good?

I think that you could. But don't dye your hair black or anything because her hair is really pretty.

Does this look good?

Good Day.

Does this look good?

dress the way you want to dress and do whatever with your hair that you see fit. You don't have to go to the internet to ask if you can do such and such with your life, just do it. Its your life not everyone elses on the internet..

Is my ex-friend a poser?

Last year in school, we were friends and we loved Green Day and were always trying to find new punk bands. At the end of that year, we were no longer friends (don't ask)! This year at open house she had her hair dyed BLACK! ok well shes not punk ne more....she changed to skater because there is this boy she likes tht is a skater and he said he would teach her to skate. So I dont know what she is trying to prove. By the way, her hair looks really BAD! SO is she a poser for changing from punk to skater so soon? Just wondering!

Is my ex-friend a poser?

Hard to say....

Perhaps, but sometimes people do change for real.

Who was that female punk singer who wore the two pieces of plastic for a skirt.?

I used to love this band but for the life of me cannot remember the name of the band or the songs. Please help me! lol, this is driving me nuts. She was very tall, blonde, had those punk color streaks in her hair. %26amp; her singing was unique, kind of unusual. It was a band from the 80's. If anyone can help I would be so grateful!

Who was that female punk singer who wore the two pieces of plastic for a skirt.?

terri bozzio from missing persons...they had a minor hit in 1983 with 'destination unknown'...

I think the band you're thinking of was the Plasmatics. The lead singer's name was Wendy O. Williams. I hope this helps you.
