Try some hair wax. You can pick all different kinds up at your local drugstore. Also, aquanet hairspray and a little bit of gel would probably do the trick. I've found the cheaper the better with that kind of stuff! It tends to be more 'industrial strength'

They have that hair balm or hair wax that is suppose to be good. You could always go buy a couple of bottle of Aqua Net!

Add some elmers white glue to your gel and it will wrok. It makes my 3 feet of hair stand up. You have to blow it dry though or it will fall over before the glue hardens.

You have to train hair to style the way you want it. If you have always styled it one way and are just trying the spike thing, it could take about three-five days to get hair to react the way you want it. At first you will have to use a lot of hair products. Have fun.
