Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

I hang around with punks. I am the goth girl, always have been. My best friend is a punk, we share alot of makeup, hair and clothes stuff. Our music differs though. Why would one be labled punk and one goth? I know the history of where both come from, just in today's society why would someone lablel someone goth or punk when they both seem to collide and share alot of fashions.

Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

The line is only in your mind.

Trust me. I'm an aging punk-rocker.

Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

well...I don't usually see many punk chicks or guys that paint their face white and wear vials of blood around their necks

Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

I kinda think that they are both the same people just have different words for the group

Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

punk is more form a time(1980's ) and goth coming from gothica starts off in the church then later on messed up and turned in to some satanic worship all about vampires and black lip stick. but i like puck there are more colors.

Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

pale face makeup

Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

the line between punk and goth is 6.5 (see explaination below)

got-h as in gott -h and gott is german word for god. and h is shown over time as MARCH APRIL MAY so reading forward H A DI stitched together RIL IVI stitched together AY and reverse H C R A IVI stitched together and ultimately god=7154 translated to numbers and they add to 17 which add to 8 which translates to h. thus god as three is god but god as one is h. the first in heaven and hell. If god jehovah summed up as one instead of as 10 is e then he is second in heaven and hell just as christ adds to e also and they are called your god and savior cause they are rebel trash. and for awile my spirit gave jehovahs turf to Persians for claiming to be god alone. and Jesus i gave to the romans for true death for claiming to be my son. but i allowed the roman empire to be defeated because of my love for germans. and the etruscans had better looking woman than the romans.

in answer to your queation sum up the transalation of punk=16211411=17=8=h and goth=715208=23=5 so 6.5 is the line between punk and goth.

and be happy the Lord who is god who is first in heaven heard your question and took his valuable time to answer it. good luck and love a punk.

The "Goth" subculture evolved from the Punk and post-punk musical movements but became something else entirely ...

It is more introverted and full of "lament and depression", hence the black clothes. The "Punk" subculture is more angry than sad.

Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

the line is that punk can be fun.. where goth is always supposed to be depressing.

Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

Goth used to be a subclassification of punk. In the early to mid 80s, it emerged as a subculture in its own right, complete with its own graphic art, literature, music, and fashion. There is so much diversity within the gothic world that its members strongly resist attempts at definition and labeling. Yet there are stereotypes that linger...

Goth is a contemporary subculture prevalent in many countries around the globe. It began in the United Kingdom during the late 1970s to early 1980s in the gothic rock scene, an offshoot of the post-punk genre. The goth subculture is remarkable for its longevity compared with others of the same era. Its imagery and cultural proclivities show influences from nineteenth century Gothic literature, mainly by way of horror movies.

The goth subculture has associated "gothic" tastes in music and fashion. Gothic music encompasses a number of different styles. Common to all is a tendency towards a 閳ユ竸ark閳?sound and outlook. Styles of dress within the subculture range from death rock, punk, Victorian, androgynous, some Renaissance style clothes, or combinations of the above, most often with lots of black attire, makeup and hair.

What is Goth?

Goth unashamedly celebrates the dark recesses of the human psyche. Put the back of your hand on your forehead, and you're there: dark sensuality, sweeping sadness, morbid fascination, forbidden love, the beauty of enduring pain, you get the picture.

Why Goth?

Many people lead unhappy, unachieved lives. And that's sad. Goth makes depression and angst a lifestyle choice, and that's art. ;-)

Goth as counter-culture

1967: The hippie counter-culture saw that the world sucked and promised to change it with love.

1977: Punk culture saw that the world still sucked and raised a middle finger in defiance.

1981: Goths understood all along the importance of a good smoke.

Goth as fun

You simply can't maintain a room full of dispairing people dressed in black for very long without someone starting a chain of laughter. Once you realise you've gone over the top, there's nothing left to do but laugh. It's a self-deflating culture that delights in self-parody and in ridiculing itself. To put it plainly: it's fun.

This creates room for the growing number of non-mopey people in the scene. A wide variety of social misfits find in it a place to be themselves and to enjoy the company of other unique individuals. But what about those original stereotypes?

Goth Types

The notion of "goth type" is more of an internal joke than a reality. It does reveal, however, the constellation of themes that collectively define the subculture. Very few goths are as polarlised as this listing implies - most are a combination of types. Moral: don't believe in generalizations about goths, not even the ones you read here.

Where do you think the line is between punk and goths?

There are no lines, they are both equal in their idiocy, furthermore they are just both dumb and I hate them.
